New York City’s Skyline is Under Construction and is Going to Have a Lot of Changes

The first of the nine buildings is a 950-footer, 65-story all-residential tower to stand at 220 Central Park south and will be completed in 2018. The second is at 35 Hudson Yards to rise 1,009 feet and 72 stories, which will be finished in 2019. The third one to rise at 30 Hudson Yards is a 1,079 foot-tall, 80-story office space for Silverstein Properties, to see completion in 2018.

The fourth building will be the tallest project at the Yards in West 57th St., and will reach 1,296 feet and 90 stories, with its completion set in 2019. The fifth building which is the tallest of all, will rise up to 1,550 feet and 130 stories. It will also be completed in 2019.

The foundation work of the sixth building is now underway at 53 West 53rd Street, and will stand 1,428 feet and 80 stories. The building will be completed in 2018.

Super tall buildings which are now under construction are: the Three World Trade Center with a target completion in 2018, a 780-feet tall 50 West Street building which has a target completion in 2017, and the 30 Park Place which will hopefully be finishing its construction this year.

According to the New York Post news, the 1,050 feet, 82-storey tower is the seventh building to rise at 1 Manhattan West, which will be completed also in 2018. The eight building will rise at Ninth Avenue and West 33rd Street to stand 67 stories and 995 feet. This will be completed in the last quarter of 2019. The ninth building will rise at 11th Avenue and West 33rd Street, and will stand 67 stories and 995 feet. It will be completed in 2018.

Anyone who has walked in the past year through Midtown Manhattan, have already probably noticed the construction cranes and scaffolding crowding the area, which is in the midst of the construction of the tall buildings, as reported by Business Insider news.

The building constructions are happening so fast and are sure to change the city's skyline. The transformation of the city will be mostly around 57th Street, as there are six new luxury high rises that are under construction in the area.
