Steiner Studios' Doug Steiner puts his "art collector's paradise" in suburban New Jersey in the market for $3.85 million. Steiner is the President of Steiner Equities Group in Roseland, New Jersey and he is also the chairman of Steiner Studios in Brooklyn and Steiner New York City.
According to The Real Deal, Steiner's contemporary-inspired home is located in 7 Noel Drive in Short Hills. It is in a community around 20 miles outside New York City. The listing is under Daniel Cannizzo and Karen Eastman Bigos of Towne Realty Group.
Steiner's limestone house was designed by architect Hugh Newell Jacobsen. The house sits on 1.5 acres of land that is surrounded by 2,000-acre South Mountain nature reservation. It is a five-bedroom house that has two fireplaces with floor to ceiling glass walls. The garage can accommodate four cars.
It has been reported that Steiner bought the house in 2000 for $2.8 million. He invested worth $800,000 of additional works to improve the property. Given its 12- to 16-foot ceilings, the house is perfect for Steiner's priceless art collection. However, Steiner shared that it is now time to move on.
As Steiner said, "I'm an empty nester. It's cavernous."
Meanwhile, Steiner is pretty much busy with his latest developments in Brooklyn and the East Village. Last month, it was reported that Steiner just got a $130 million loan for a condominium development in the East Village. Reportedly, Steiner bought the property in 2012 for $41 million from the Mary Help of Christians church.
Aside from that Steiner is on the works with The Hub. This is a 52-story rental tower that is located in Downtown Brooklyn. It will have 720 units and there will be a designated 20 percent which will be very affordable in the market. When it comes to development, Steiner got everything on his hands.
