"Pirates of the Caribbean" actor Johnny Depp has bought his Plan de Tour estate back in 2001 with a hefty price tag of $26 million. Depp's real estate sits on a 37-acre lot, and he made several significant improvements to the property to turn it into an exquisite village, a report from Top Ten Real Deals said.
"With approximately 10,760 square feet of living space, the property has 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, a main house, several guest cottages, a chapel, bar and restaurant, a workshop/garage and a staff house. There is a pirate-themed wine cellar, a skate park enjoyed by his children and two swimming pools. Also conveyed to the buyer were the contents including books, DVDs, furniture and some works of art," the report said.
According to the report, Depp's village estate is located at 17 miles north of St. Tropez. It was said that he spent a huge amount of money renovating the property for a period of 15 years.
In a statement, Alexander Kraft of Sotheby's Realty said that it was Depp who personally decorated the interiors of his home.
"Contrary to many other properties of major international celebrities, Johnny Depp's estate has not been decorated by an interior designer, but by Johnny himself. As a consequence, the estate is not a ritzy showplace, but an utterly charming family home that truly reflects Johnny Depp's unique character and taste," Kraft, the listing agent said, as quoted in E Online.
"The asking price actually includes all of the property's furniture and a great number of personal belongings of Johnny Depp. Thus, the purchaser will be able to not only acquire an exceptional property, but also many personal items of one of the greatest stars of our times," he added.
Celebrity Net Worth reports that Depp has a net worth of $400 million. "His annual salary can reach $100 million. To date, Johnny Depp's many successful films have grossed over $3.1 billion in America and $7.6 billion worldwide at the box office."
