Disneyland Park in California will have great additional attractions. The Disney Parks Blog has recently posted an artistic image of the new looks of The Rivers of America and the Disneyland Railroad.
Both areas are temporarily closed as part of the preparation for the upcoming "Star Wars Land" in the park. According to the post, once the areas reopen the north banks of the Rivers of America will have a new waterfront. The artistic image by Walt Disney Imagineering shows the riverbank will feature an elevated trestle where the railroad will travel. It will provide an overlooking view to its visitors.
According to Baller Status, the "Star Wars Land" will be located in the north area of the waterway. Because of the big expansion in the park, the following attractions were reportedly removed: Big Thunder Ranch, Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue, Big Thunder Ranch petting zoo and Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree.
According to KTLA, all the attractions along the Rivers of America will be temporarily closed. Those include, the Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia, Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, Davy Crocket Explorer Canoes and Fantasmic. As for the Disneyland Railroad and its stations, they were also shut down for the whole duration of the construction.
Meanwhile, the new attractions that will be on the "Star Wars Land" are yet to be announced as well as details on when it will open.
In relation to theme parks expansions and developments, The Universal Studios Hollywood just announced that the "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" is set to open on April 7, 2016. The "Harry Potter Land" was inspired from J.K. Rowling's world-famous novels. It was mentioned during the press release that the new themed land will be "faithful to the visual landscape of the fiction and films, including Hogwarts castle."
