Luxury buildings and condominiums are the star of the city’s rich and the famous. The Ritz-Carlton Condo over at West End in Washington D.C. is home to a few famous elite people in politics, in business and in sports.
According to the Washington Business Journal, basketball legend Michael Jordan and soccer champ Mia Hamm were among the first people who resided in the building when it opened in 2000. Over at politics, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, former Puerto Rico governor Luis Fortuni, and former White House budget director Franklin Raines, are the known residents. The former president of the Kennedy Center, Michael Kaiser, also resides in the building.
When you have the rich and the famous living in your building, it’s a bit shocking to hear of the Ritz-Carlton condo undergoing a price cut of almost half a million dollars for their penthouse suite.
As reported by Curbed Washington DC, the condo’s price for the penthouse was originally sold at $6.9 million and was chopped to $6.495 million. The unit, which measures at 4,000 square feet, has three bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. The monthly rent for this unit is at $6,080.
According to its listing, the penthouse was said to have undergone an extensive renovation. The unit features impeccable features like a library that is made of fine mahogany wood, a wine cellar in which you can control the temperature, and its very own solarium. It is the penthouse suite after all.
Back in September 2015, the Washingtonian reported that the presidential suite in the Ritz-Carlton was sold at $6.050 million, which was the highest-selling condo in three years. The suite measures at 5,664 square feet and has four bedrooms and five bathrooms. The original price, however, was $6.950 million, so the price cut was really evident at almost a million dollars.
