Kitchens make a home's listing expensive and if you're interested to increase the value of your house, you can focus your renovations in this area. Up to date, there are many new upgrades in the appliances and designs of the kitchen. Ocean Home Mag seeks the advice of some of the well-known designers in the country and their advice for homeowners to achieve these upgrades.

It is inevitable that most of the designers interviewed always make it a point to mix both function and form in their designs. Majority aimed a socially adaptable space that could not only perform various functions but could also be used as a social area that could welcome guests.

Jill Neubauer of Jill Neubauer Architects designed a kitchen with a "Sub-Zero refrigerator and a 48-inch Wolf stove with six burners, two ovens and a grill."

"It's a very social kitchen, with a stove that can meet that demand," said Neubauer in the outlet. "It can pretty well take care of any entertaining needs."

Meanwhile Nick Noyes of Nick Noyes Architecture designed a space that is "open to the main living area" and he also incorporated "a work triangle and island" that would generate "ease of movement and aesthetics."

Among the equipments the designers mostly suggest, a Sub-zero fridge always come in their list. Peter Pennoyer of Peter Pennoyer Architects said that sub-zero fridges coming into different sizes makes it easier for him to work out a tailored kitchen design.

In addition, Noyes also suggested using Caesarstone countertops, Poggenpohl aluminum cabinets, Gaggenau cooktop and Hansgrohe faucets to achieve a contemporary look in your kitchen. While Polly Lewis and Maribeth Brostowski of Lewis Interiors recommend a more advanced equipment for the kitchen like Thermador ovens and wine coolers, Bosch dishwasher and a La Cornue range hood.
