A new home renovation and house flipping show is coming to HGTV titled, "Five Day Flip." The series will follow host Cherie Barber, an expert in renovation, as she looks for old homes that could use her magic and be flipped in just five days. The show is set to premiere on Feb. 4.
In a report by Multichannel, Barber said in the press release that, "For me it's all about those budget-friendly projects that create a huge transformation. My specialty is transforming a dated property into the most beautiful home on the block without wasting time or money."
According to HGTV, the focus of the series is to showcase Barber and her team's expert skills in remodeling houses fast and the top notch quality of improvements they can deliver. They mentioned work done on kitchen backsplashes and giving walls a fresh look. In order to give the show a fresh feature compared to others, Barber will try to reuse as much of the old house parts as possible. This can include floors made from hardwood, vintage cabinetry and lightings, plus items that will add more appeal to the renovated property. Barber is also an expert in improving curb appeal of properties and so viewers can expect to see this in the coming episodes.
In a post by Broadway World, the concept of home renovation and house flipping is not a new one and HGTV already has several shows that revolve around these two themes. Most of them are successful in terms of viewership and following but the network has decided to up the ante by adding "Five Day Flip" to its roster of shows. Instead of doing the renovations in weeks, the host Barber and her crew will only get five days which will also include flipping time. It will be a big challenge but producers are confident Barber will be up for the task.
