Your closet can sometimes become a reflection of your personality. You don't want people to think that your personality is as messy as your closet, do you? If you want to de-clutter your closet but you don't have enough time to rummage through a pile of clothes and shoes, then here are some fast and easy ways you can do to clean your closet.
What You'll Need:
Trash bag
Boxes
Vacuum
Time: 30 minutes
According to Apartment Therapy, while an hour is an ideal time of cleaning your closet, not everyone has the luxury of time to spend an hour for de-cluttering. If you want to de-clutter your closet quickly, then give at least 30 minutes for each closet.
Focus on one closet at a time; you don't need to work on all of your closets at home unless of course you're entertaining guests at home. Start by going through your clothes and sorting each one according to their type.
Sorting your clothes according to type will also help you save time whenever you need those extra minutes of sleep in the morning or when you are running late. If you see clothes you haven't worn for a long time, then maybe you can decide on keeping them, throwing them, or donating them.
HGTV also said that de-cluttering your closet can also be a good time to find out which areas of the closet take much of the space in your room. You can also make this a perfect time for your kids to know about the value of organizing and cleaning their own spaces.
You can also use this as an opportunity to donate some of your items, as the publication noted that the average American only wears 10 to 20 percent of the clothes in their closets. It is also important to de-clutter your closets at least 15 minutes per week so that you will no longer need to do a major cleanup afterwards.
