2015 brought many sales that have gained the spotlight. The past year also showed various celebrity homes for sale in many regions.
Among those celebrity homes that has sparked public awareness was owned by Johnny Depp, which was called the French Village. It was sold for $25 million. According to the previous report of the Real Estate Weekly, "In 2001, Depp bought an entire French village 17 miles north of St. Tropez, and he spent millions renovating the 12 original buildings in the village during his marriage to French actress and singer, Vanessa Paradis." However, when the couple separated in 2012, Depp listed the property in the market.
Another property that generated public attention was the property owned by Michael Jackson. Before the estate was placed on the market in 2015, the asking price was at $100 million, and most of the signs of Michael's life, menagerie of animals, and carnival rides were already removed. The place was also renamed as the Sycamore Valley Ranch, and was re-styled back to the home built and designed in 1982 by Robert Altevers for William Bone, as further reported by the Real Estate Weekly.
Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus' listed property has ignited the interest of many as well. The singer-actress' Tuscan mansion was sold for a pricey $5.995 million, as mentioned in a separate post by the Top Ten Real Estate Deals.
According to the report, "The Tuscan style property is gated and tucked privately away inside walls and thick tropical vegetation, [while] the home is accessed by a long-bricked drive bordered by trees and thick hedging opening onto a brick motor court."
Cyrus' home was built and designed in 2007 by famed architect, Bob Easton. The home's appearance features patches of vine-covered walls, as well as red-barrel tile roofings. The Old World ambiance of the place belies its youth.
Other noted celebrity properties are President Obama's vacation home in Martha's Vineyard, late actress Lauren Bacall's Central Park apartment in The Dakota, and late singer Bing Crosby's home in Coachella Valley in Southern California, which also served as his vacation retreat.
