2016 Design Options to Organize and De-Clutter Your Home

Now that 2016 is here, it is important to have a new year's resolution for your home as well. It is important to have a clean and decluttered home as you welcome the year with peace and prosperity. Listed below are a few tips from HGTV and Apartment Therapy to help you come up with ways on how to save space while decluttering your home.

Make it a Point to Organize

Buying new storage containers or dressers doesn't really help, most especially if you do not need it. Make sure to organize the area first and have it cleaned. Put away the things that would no longer be beneficial as it usually consumes a lot of space. Once you've removed the "excess" baggage, that'll be the time for you to decide as to whether you'll need more storage space or not.

Invest on a Little Upgrade

Investing on something doesn't have to be expensive at all as numerous DIY craft stores offer limitless shelving and box solutions. Invest on a shelf space that's big enough for the items that doesn't have space, but make sure that it isn't too big as you might end up hoarding more than you'd intend to keep.

Let Go

Let go of the things that you no longer intend to use and stop hoarding them. May it be your gadgets, craft materials, or your electronics. As long as you haven't used them over the past two months, throw them out or give them away. If you haven't used them for quite some time, chances are you'll never get to use them at all.

Finish What You've Started

It is very important to finish what you've started. You don't have to finish it within the day, but it is important to consider it as a work in progress.
