English Home with Banksy’s Mural is On Sale for $305K

The three-bedroom Victorian home in Cheltenham, England is for sale with an asking price of $305,000, which wouldn't attract a buyer at first glance.

Although the home has features of an eat-in kitchen, a rear patio, plus separate living and dining spaces, a flip of the images shows the whole place is in desperate need of renovation. Certain walls of the home seem to have been torn down and what remains are the unattractive paint colors, outdated cabinetry and drab flooring.

But reading the listing, you'll see why this home is actually great to own. "A rare opportunity to acquire a ... property with a genuine 'Banksy' on the gable wall,'' the listing says.

The street artist, who is politically active and prefers anonymity, created a mural on the exterior of the home around April 2014, said the report. Called "Spy Booth," the work depicts three men wearing sunglasses and trench coats, who are standing behind the actual public phone booth.

According to the NY Post, this home can be called a good deal as Banksy's artwork alone has fetched seven figures. But, unfortunately, "Spy Booth" is not in its original state anymore. In August 2014, only months after it was created, vandals defaced the artwork with ridiculous graffiti. Now, the artwork has been restored and is surrounded by metal railings to prevent further intrusion.

The "Spy Booth" is located in this English town and not in Washington, D.C. because Cheltenham is home to Britain's intelligence and security agency, and even uses the artwork on its website, reported Walkileaks.

Anyone can possibly name the home a superb deal as Banksy's artwork alone, which is not hooked up with the property, is an expensive piece of art.

The Banksy's mural was painted within the wake of Edward Snowden's leak of the Nationwide Safety Company paperwork, which revealed the details about international surveillance.

Repping the home is Peter Ball & Co. Property Brokers.
