A townhouse located in Hamilton Heights, Harlem was sold for an estimated price of $5 million, and it has broken the record of the most expensive townhouse in the neighborhood.
New York Curbed confirmed from the property's listing agent that the sale was in fact the priciest in Harlem.
The five-story townhouse measures a total of 5,300 square feet and features remarkable 18th century front doors. It also has Herringbone French oak floors all throughout the house and high ceilings.
The property has a total of four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and three parlors. The kitchen features pewter countertops, while the bathrooms are decorated with hand-carved mosaic tiles. The master's bathroom, which is connected to the master's bedroom, has a stunning oval-shaped bathtub. The suite also has its own walk-in closet, and the bathroom also has a freestanding bath and endless double counter.
Three fireplaces make the house cozy during the cold weather. The fifth floor offers breathtaking views, and it is also decorated with stunning woodwork. There is also a mosaic-designed bathroom.
The property was previously sold for only $1.7 million back in 2007. The recent purchase of the place beats the previous priciest townhouse in the area, when actor Neil Patrick Harris bought his 8,000-square-foot home for $4 million back in 2013.
The listing details of the property further reveal that the place also features a winding staircase bordered by subtle limestone. The house also has a sitting room and its own home office. On the outside, it has a beautiful landscaped front and back gardens. The place offers all-new systems, including a central air conditioning and a shaft for elevator installations. The location of the place has an easy access to the subways and a number of popular restaurants.
