It is no doubt that the start of every year corresponds to new resolutions and this includes people targeting to live healthily and losing weight. A lot of people now are cramming and overcrowding gym establishments in order to make their onset goals to fulfillment. But will this also correspond that people will have the same interest for homes that have gym areas? And will they pay more knowing this?
This is a hot topic for home sellers, will a construction of a gym ultimately help sell a house in a good price?
Jason Clinton wrote in his article that people's interest in going to a gym may not be the same for a homebuyer and gyms do not really increase a home's value.
"The short answer is absolutely not! In spite of this, it most certainly will increase the desirability of your home to a certain set of buyers. Think of it like a pool. Study after study has revealed that even if you live in Arizona, it still will not increase the real value of your home, only the perceived value."
"The fact is that by having a home gym the appeal of your home will increase to a certain subset of buyers. In essence, it's simply a differentiator. The only positive investment would be that of your health. It's one of the few things in life that you can actually control," stated Clinton.
Although a gym area may not help increase your home's value, an updated kitchen, a well-maintained plumbing, and electrical system helps to sell the house more in a higher price.
