Matt Damon's Pacific Palisades Mansion Sells for $20M

Matt Damon's Zen-inspired modern mansion in Pacific Palisades is on the list. The 9,000-square-foot mansion is up for grabs for $20 million.

"The Martian" star, Damon, purchased the property back in 2013 for $15 million. The house is said to contain five family bedrooms, two staff bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It is a well hidden abode so privacy is not a problem. It was originally designed in 2000 by the KAA Design Group and is actually a cluster of buildings connected by glass, stone and wood pavilions, which surround the central atrium, Celebrity Home reported.

The "Bourne Identity" actor's central structure has a 35-foot-high mahogany ceiling. It has provided a generous space for the living room, dining rooms, in-kitchen room, office, family room, and a hi-tech gym. On the backside, there are courtyards, gardens and sleeping porches for relaxation. A fully manicured corner piece of land provide an additional flat lawn and more gardens. There is also a Koi pond and a swimming pool that provide a magnificent view from the adjacent pavilion.

The actor and his wife, Luciana Barroso, previously owned Maurice Gibbs' 13,000-square-foot mansion in Miami Beach. The couple also purchased the adjacent property in 2005, and both cost $14.5 million. It was listed in the Spring of 2013 for $20 million, but was only sold in 2015 for $15.375 million, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Damon is currently busy promoting his latest sci-fi movie, "The Martian," which is about an astronaut that was left behind accidentally during a Martian expedition. He will then be busy for being back as Jason Bourne in the fifth installment of the spy-action blockbuster hit franchise.

On a side note, Damon's longtime pal, Ben Affleck, used to have a property on the Pacific Palisades as well. Damon and Affleck's properties were on the same block. Affleck's property was recently listed for $45 million.
