Tiny living spaces and modular homes are slowly becoming the trend, and Colectivo Creativo combined the two in their latest design, called VIMOB.
The 36 square meters structure is settled in Matapalo, Valle del Cauca in Colombia. It is the prototype of the house that aims to solve a common challenge in the age we are lving today. Architects of Colectivo shares, "VIMOB was born from the notion of creating a shelter in an area of difficult access, a place where traditional construction would be limited by transport of materials and labor."
Modular houses are considered eco-friendly as it the construction has very little impact on the environment. It is also very practical as the parts are easy to assemble without bulky construction materials. The team of architects shares that the project is sent out directly to the construction area, after they had developed it in their workshop.
The house has a modern look but the colors are inspired by nature. Wooden panels that look like huge tiles blend the entire home to its green background. Oriented strand board and pine ceiling keep the home warm on those chilly nights.
The modular is perfect for a small family. According to Freshome, there are two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an area that doubles as kitchen and living rooms. There are built in storages for kitchenware and huge windows open to the fresh breeze and scenic greens outside. There is a deck where a hangout area could be set up, and the family could use this for their breakfasts in the morning, or drinks after a long day at work.
The home may also come in other sizes, from a 1 bedroom with an area of 28 square meters, to a home fit for bigger families or larger groups, with 114 square meters.
