It's common for every home buyer to want every inch of their home to be as perfect as it could be. However, real estate developer Mike Meldman thinks differently: he prefers his home to be perfect for entertaining large parties.
In fact, his home even has custom-made tables - although it's not what you think. "I am one of the best beer-pong players in the world," Meldman told the Wall Street Journal.
In case you're not aware of Mike Meldman, the real estate tycoon started making millions at an early age. Meldman founded Discovery Land Company, a Scottsdale, Arizona-based developer and operator of residential communities and clubs, in 1994.
Discovery Land Co. currently has 18 private resorts under its belt, some of which are located in exclusive locations. In fact, sales at the company's properties last year went way beyond $1 million.
Meldman describes his resorts - which sells homes that range between $1 million to $50 million - as luxury "frat houses for families." As it turns out, his six homes in Los Angeles, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, the Bahamas, and Los Cabos, Mexico, actually run the same feel, too.
It seems as though Meldman lives his lifestyle as a balance of work and play, since he loves to entertain guests for both business and pleasure.
"A lot of these guys who made a lot of money don't have fun and don't know how to have fun. We show them how to have fun," said 57-year-old Meldman.
Not only that, but Meldman is also closely affiliated with notable figures in the entertainment industry, as well as some celebrities.
Lavish birthday parties in the past have enlisted bands like Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Chicago. In fact, Gwen Stefani and Serena Williams were just two of his many guests at his Halloween party last year.
