A luxurious Sydney real estate property once called home by legendary Beatle Paul McCartney has been made available to interested buyers by its owner.
According to The New York Times, McCartney and wife Linda rented the house in the Mosman suburb of Sydney when the music icon last toured Australia in 1993. The property for sale has been listed and has a price tag of AUS $40 million or US $28 million. A local developer named Bob Rose built the house in 1980s and the listed current owner of the home bought the Sydney luxury real estate in 1994.
The property has an area of 2,400 square meters and faces the Clontarf Beach with an amazing view of Middle Harbor. Aside from having its own boat shed, clubhouse and tennis court, it also has six bedrooms, nine baths and a five-vehicle parking space. Its double garage is being used as a dance practice area.
The luxurious Sydney home sits on the "Golden Mile," a term locals use to call the area where many of the properties are owned by the richest people in Australia. As proof of its opulence, McCartney reportedly rented the beachfront house for $25,000 weekly. The owner is a retired Chinese trader who rarely uses the property and says there was no effort made to renovate or change anything from the time he purchased it.
Meanwhile, in a report by Mirror, McCartney will join another legendary musician in a concert to remember the recently deceased David Bowie in March. Mick Jagger will play alongside the Beatle icon at Carnegie Hall in a concert called "The Music of David Bowie." The event was already schedule prior to the death of Bowie as a way to honor one of the music industry's most respected musicians but his tragic passing has turned the affair into a memorial instead. Other great musical names are expected to perform.
