Celebrity Realty: Fashion Entrepreneur Andrew Livingston Williamsburg, Brooklyn Home

Fashion designer and entrepreneur Andrew Livingston gushes about his two-bedroom apartment located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and how he feels it is a perfect home for him.

Livingston shared that when he first moved to his apartment, the first thing that entered his mind was to put a good mattress on the guest room.

According to The New York Times, 18 months ago Livingston, rented the duplex in a converted 19th century Catholic church. At that time he had plans to have the second bedroom up for Airbnb. But most of his guests are friends of his friends and some business associates.

He came up with the idea from "the way we run the factory," said Livingston. He is the majority owner and the creative director of the Knickerbocker Mfg. Co., a clothing company. Livingston is renting an industrial space in Brooklyn. He leased the space along with his pals Daniel McRorie and Kyle Mosholder. They also use some parts of the factory for their own projects. Around 25 percent of the space is also rented out by other people.

Livingston shared that "We have 8,000 square feet and rent out work space to like-minded people to help with the overhead."

Livingston's experience as a landlord helped him organized accordingly booth rentals at the Liberty Fairs men's wear trade show on Manhattan's West Side. He is the curator of a new section called "The Living Room."

What made the fair more interesting is that Livingston was also able to convince the organizers to expand further into home design. He has great enthusiasm for it because he strongly believes that the "coolest fashion retailers sells lifestyle."

As Livingston said there are ways on how they showcase their identities, "When you walk into my shop or home you clearly know where my interests lie."

Livingston works in an old factory and lives in an old converted church which shows that he is interested in different era. His apartment is apparently well styled just as the booths in Brooklyn Flea. Living in Williamsburg also enables him to monitor fashion and retail trends every day. He said, "They're calling this the SoHo of Brooklyn now."
