Convicted mass murderer Charles Manson has secured a marriage license on Nov. 7 to marry a 26-year-old woman who visits him in prison. The 80-year-old, who is serving a lifetime sentence, is set to be the lawfully wedded husband of Elaine Burton.
The Associated Press reported that over the last nine years, Burton -- who also goes by the name "Star" -- has been rallying to exonerate the notorious killer.
"Y'all can know that it's true," said the loyal supporter of Manson. "It's going to happen."
"I love him," she continued. "I'm with him. There's all kinds of things."
While no date has been set, the validity of the license spans 90 days. The AP shared that Burton has said that she and Mason are planning to tie the knot next month.
CNN noted that Jeffrey Callison, a spokesman with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, explained that the wedding must take place on a designated visiting day. He further cited that no photography will be allowed.
With regards to guests, the happy couple will have a maximum of 12 guests -- two from inside the prison and a 10 from the outside -- in addition to the person officiating the ceremony.
Burton has been a dedicated advocate for the convicted felon and has moved from the Midwest to California to be closer to Manson. The prospective wife of Manson spends her days painting and maintaining the various social media websites of her fiance.
While talking to CNN, Burton revealed that her goal is to set Manson free as she argues he is innocent. She Burton believes that Manson has been wrongfully convicted of the multiple murders he has been found guilty of masterminding.
"I'm completely with him, and he's completely with me. It's what I was born for, you know. I don't know what else to say," said Star.
Manson, along with female followers, were convicted in the brutal killing of actress Sharon Tate along with four others in her estate in 1969.
BBC reported that Manson has been a habitual criminal spending his life in and out of prison. The infamous killer will only be eligible to apply for parole in 2027.
As a prisoner serving a life with no parole date, Manson is not entitled to family or conjugal visits. Physical contact has also been limited. During visits, only hugging is permitted at the beginning of the visit and once more at the end.
