Charleston Real Estate Ranks No. 2 on Top 10 List of 'Hot Real Estate Markets to Watch in 2016'

Forbes Magazine recently published an article about the "Hot Real Estate Markets To Watch in 2016," and the list includes Charleston.

Based on the report of The Post and Courier, the Lowcountry jobs seem to call for more workers in the Charleston area. With the area's limited housing supply, the city has been considered as a good real estate market. This was reflected in Trulia's list of real estate markets that would play a significant role in this year's economy.

"There are lots of reasons why so many people love the Lowcountry. Charleston is a serious foodie destination, with 11 restaurants earning nominations for coveted James Beard Awards in 2015 alone, and the popular Charleston Wine + Food Festival, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2016," said Ralph McLaughlin, Trulia chief economist.

This year, there is an expected expansion and development by Daimler and Volvo, as well as the Boeing Co. These expansions are auto manufacturing plants that will cost more than $500 million.

Meanwhile, the Trulia rankings deemed that the Grand Rapids in Wyoming is the number one real estate market to watch for. Grand Rapid-Wyoming is ranked 14th among the most affordable place in the United States and 22nd among the strongest market based on job growth.

Charleston, which ranked second in the list, is considered to be a hot real estate market with its ranking as the 6th highest in terms of job growth. McLaughlin made the strong suggestion on this matter. An article on Conde Nast Traveler Magazine further said that Charleston even became the top tourist destination in the United States.

Others in Trulia's list are Columbia at the 7th spot and California's Riverside San Bernardino as the 8th. At the third spot is Austin, while San Antonio got the 5th spot.

Additionally, the report of Palmetto Business Daily stated that the Cassina Group of Charleston, South Carolina just added 2 new agents. The two known real estate agents, Jobe Johnson and Ashley Marsh, had recently joined the real estate entity.
