Realogy, HomeServices, Zillow – Swanepoel POWER 200 Honors Real Estate Leaders

The annual Swanepoel POWER 200 has recognized real estate industry leaders for 2016 including big names in Canada and the United States such as Zillow, Realogy and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.

The top three SP200 leaders in the realty industry are: (1) Richard A. Smith of Realogy Holdings; (2) Ron Peltier of HomeServices America; and (3) Spencer Rascoff of Zillow Group.

Richard Smith is the chairman and chief executive officer of Realogy, which owns leading brands such as Coldwell Banker, Century 21 and Sotheby's International Realty among others. Smith's leadership saw a 9 percent increase in revenues and 10 percent increase in EBITDA in the third quarter of 2015 compared to the same period in 2014. According to RIS Media, one out of every four home sales in the U.S. is cared of Realogy given its 13,600 offices and over 250,000 brokers and agents in many different countries.

Ron Peltier is the chairman and CEO off HomeServices, Berkshire Hathaway's wholly-owned subsidiary. Under his reign, the realty company recorded a solid growth year over year, while making several acquisitions. It posted a 15.7 percent quarterly revenue increase year over year in 2015. HomeServices acquired First Weber in Wisconsin, one of its biggest additions, which saw the company's total agents reach over 70,000.

Spencer Rascoff is the CEO of Zillow Group which he was a founding employee of back in 2005. In 2014, Zillow bought its rival Trulia and in the third quarter of 2015, the real estate firm saw its revenues increase two times, at $177 million, compared to 2014's $89 million. Rascoff is an award-winning real estate personality. His recognitions include Fortune's 2012 40 Under 40 Hottest Young Stars in Business and Forbes' America's 20 Most Powerful CEOs Under 40.

Also making it to the top five are Gary Keller, co-founder and chairman of Keller Williams Realty International, and Dale Stinton, CEO of National Association of REALTORS.
