Kids and adults alike were delighted with the news of the construction of Shanghai Disney Resort in Pudong District in China. It has recently been announced that the Shanghai Disney opening is set on June 16, 2016, and Robert A. Iger, chairman and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company, has said that the new establishment is set to offer "a one-of-a-kind, world-class destination that is authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese."
Here are some of the amazing features to look forward to in Shanghai Disneyland:
Shanghai Disneyland castle
A Disney resort is not complete without a Disneyland castle, and the upcoming theme park in Shanghai is set to amaze travelers with its own version. Disney Parks Blog has posted photos of the castle in construction, which include the progress, the renderings, and the expected final look of the focal point in the Shanghai Disneyland. The castle is a towering sight to behold in the park and features a combination of grey, white, pink and blue façade.
Six themed lands
Disneyland parks around the world are famous for their different areas with various Disney themes. Shanghai Disney resort will feature six, namely, Adventure Isle, Gardens of Imagination, Mickey Avenue, Tomorrowland, Treasure Cove and Fantasyland. According to The Walt Disney Company, all of them are centered around the Enchanted Storybook Castle and will offer first-of-its-kind attractions and live shows.
Nature park
Besides the rides and other park attractions, Shanghai Disney resort will also offer a recreational area where guests can enjoy relaxing nature views. This area is called Wishing Star Park, and it will measure 40 hectares featuring "beautiful gardens, walking path, and a glittering lake." Amazing sunsets are a bonus here too.
Two themed resort-hotels
Just like other Disneyland park, Shanghai Disney will also be home to two resort-hotels, namely Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel. The former features a combination of Art Nouveau and Disney magic, while the latter brings to life the toys and elements from the Disney animated movie, "Toy Story."
Shopping/dining/entertainment area
Those who wish to satisfy their shopping fix or cravings can head to Disneytown, where various stores, including the Walt of Disney Store, and restaurants can be enjoyed. It will also feature the Walt Disney Grand Theatre.
