Texas Real Estate: Dallas White House Mansion Gets Another Price Cut for $15M

The famous Dallas mansion which looks like the White House still hasn't found a buyer, and its price has now been reduced to $15 million. 

According to Chron, the property first appeared in the market in July 2014, and it was being sold for $19.5 million. By June 2015, the price of the property was reduced to $17.9 million. Now after six months, the price for the place was again reduced to $15 million.

The property was originally built in 1996, and it stands on a three-acre lot on Strait Lane in Dallas' rich Preston Hollow district. The 16,041-square-foot mansion has a total of four bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It features French limestone and marble flooring. It also has two galleries and a library which has a 17th century Louis XIII fireplace.

According to Zillow, the place underwent extensive renovations from 2001 to 2003. Antique fireplaces from France was added, while the interior floor plan was reworked. The elegant entry foyer has double walnut doors which lead to the spacious room and gorgeous staircase patterned after a Paris museum. The foyer also leads to the elegant living room and family room. The family room has a Renaissance style fireplace and is decorated with custom drapery and walnut-coffered ceiling.

The kitchen has its own 15th century carved gothic fireplace, and it is surrounded by Viking 6 burner range and gas grill. Adjacent to the kitchen is a spacious breakfast room which has a triple groin fault ceilings and Louis XIV Style Italian chandeliers.

Next to the breakfast area is a large butler pantry with storage. The spacious dining room has large stunning window views of the front grounds and limestone flooring. The dining area also features a rare Italian chandelier and an 18th century Louis XIV fireplace. The property also has an attached six-car garage which also has two limo spaces.
