Garden DIY: How to Make A Fridge Herb Garden From Recycled Tea Tins

Are you fond of including different kinds of herbs in your home-cooked meals? This is no surprise! Many homeowners really find herbs useful as they give out some medicinal value. So what's keeping you from not having pots of handy herbs in your kitchen?

HGTV shares a unique way for you to start your own indoor herb garden and you will totally be amazed on where you will put this fantastic collection of fresh growing herbs.

Materials you will need:

metal tea or coffee tins

glue

plastic storage bags

scissors

foam balls or packing peanuts

potting soil

choice of favorite herbs (tarragon, mint, basil, etc.)

wooden dowels

marker

washi tape

strong magnets

Step One:

Using a small empty tea can, glue the insides then line the tin with plastic storage bag and press it down to the bottom. Cut the excess plastic once the plastic sets in the tin can.

Step Two:

Place some foam balls inside the can (this will help the tin not move down) then put some potting soil. Plant your herbs next and add some potting soil at the top of the plant.

Step Three:

Create some name tags or stick labels, this will make you easily find which herb you will be using. If you want to create something more crafty, you can also wrap your tin cans with cute printed ribbons or washi tape.

Step four:

Glue the magnets at the back of your herb tin cans. Display your mini herb garden in the door of your ref. What the outlet recommends is placing the herb plants near where there is an abundant supply of sunlight. Lastly, slightly water the plants.
