Texas Real Estate: Billionaire Buys One of the Most Expensive Homes for $100M

Andy Beal, a billionaire banker, bought a $100 million dollar home, which is dubbed as one of the priciest properties in Texas.

Culture Map Austin reported that Beal was originally eyeing a six-acre property in Highland Park known as the Tramwell Crowe estate.

However, according to Dallas Morning News, the banker shifted his attention to the 25-acre North Dallas estate owned by Tom Hicks just before the holidays arrived. This was listed by Hicks with the help of Allie Beth Allman, a renowned listing agent. The deal was closed by the listing agents on Friday, Jan. 15.

The property includes a grand mansion that has a total area of 28,000 sq. ft. and a guest house with an area of 3, 347 square feet. According to a Culture Map correspondent, who toured the property in 2015, the approach to the private gates of the estate felt more like a cruise along the French countryside.

The entire estate has a creek and a forest filled with trees as a backdrop. Inside the property are a couple of courtyards, meadows and trails, rose and vegetable gardens, pond, greenhouse, tennis court and a helipad.

The mansion has a total of seven bedrooms plus additional staff bedroom, including the master's suite which has an enormous space of 3,000 square footage. The guest house, with two stories, is separated from the main home. Aside from this, an entertainment building sits in the property. It includes a theater and a game room.

Hicks and his wife originally bought the Walnut Hill Lane estate in 2000 and immediately after, the couple commenced major renovations to the property until they achieved what they had hoped for in a property such as this one.

David Nichols, the other listing agent, said that there is no other property in Dallas that is of the same magnitude as this Crespi estate. He also added that a property with the same magnitude as the recently sold one may never be available again in the city.
