Lindsey Vonn & Tiger Woods News: Vonn Ready to Race Following Knee Injury, Woods Hires New Swing Coach

Former Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn is ready to return to action, while his boyfriend, Tiger Woods, named his new swing coach.

Vonn has not raced a lot over the past two years after undergoing two major knee surgeries, but the skiing superstar said that she is feeling stronger and ready to make her much awaited return next week.

"I'm ready to race," Vonn told USA Today. "I'm exceptionally strong right now. I think my legs could be stronger, and I'm still working to get them stronger. But I think I'm in a really good place right now. I feel really comfortable. I feel strong. I feel fast."

The 30-year-old skier won't compete in the World Cup giant slalom race this week as she is still preparing hard for her comeback in Lake Louise where she has won 14 World Cup races before.

Vonn said that she wants to have an impressive run in Lake Louise next week as it will be a part of her preparation for the World Alpine Ski Championship in Vail in February.

Aside from the upcoming world championships, Vonn is also targeting another Olympic stint in 2018 in South Korea after failing to defend her title at the 2014 Sochi Olympics earlier this year due to a knee injury.

"I feel like I need another chance at the Olympics," Vonn said. "The first couple of Olympics, I was getting the kinks out. I didn't really know what I was doing. I was young. Now I feel like I'm in a place where I can excel at big events. I want that opportunity again."

Meanwhile, Woods announced that he has started working with Chris Como on his swing as he prepares for his upcoming comeback at the 2014 Hero World Challenge on Dec. 4 in Isleworth.

Woods said that he has been consulting with Como for almost a month since his good friend, Notah Begay, introduced him to the Dallas-based swing specialist, who is considered as one of the 40 best young golf coaches by Golf Digest.

"We had several good conservations about the golf swing," Woods said via PGA. "I've worked with him about a month since I started practicing. Chris will consult and work with me during the year."

Woods, who was slowed down by nagging back issues for the majority of the year, parted ways with former swing coach Sean Foley in August.
