Earlier this year, the Mexican kingpin made the headlines as he was finally captured by the authorities after escaping the Mexican high security prison by drilling a tunnel to plot his escape. Months after Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman escaped the authorities, it was discovered that the tunnel which he used to escape his prison cell, led into a house that nobody noticed.
Impossible as it may seem, authorities were not able to notice El Chapo's hidden mansion which is located in the middle of the fields and was never finished.
The drug lord does in fact have numerous properties, one of which is a huge mansion which housed most of his most priced possessions such as several endangered species, art works, guns, and of course bags of money.
His safe house located on the coastal town of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, on the other hand, is a low profiled home, which didn't arouse any suspicion. The bedroom barely has anything on it except an unmade bed, a sofa, and a mirror. Though there may be nothing special going on his room in terms of design, it does however have several secret passages.
The huge mirror in his room is actually a secret passage way that leads to an escape route though the sewer system which he used to escape the authorities when they found out about his Los Mochocis residence.
As per Fox News's report, a local farmer dished out some facts in regards to El Chapo's hidden house. A local farmer told CNN that the construction started in December, which is the same month when the Mexican Army general stated that "a deal was in place to release" the notorious drug lord.
The exterior portion of his hideout was done around march, but the workers continually worked on the surroundings by removing dirt within the hidden property for months.
