Celebrity Real Estate: Sally Field's Former Malibu Mansion on Sale for $7.9 Million

Veteran actress Sally Field's former Malibu rest house is now in the market for $7.9 million. Madison Hildebrand of Partners Trust Malibu is listing the property, and calls it an "enchanting compound estate."

According to the listing, the compound is roughly 3-acre huge, with 5,964 square feet and has five bedrooms and six bathrooms. Other amenities include a sprawling landscaped garden, a lighted tennis court, three-stall barn and corral, a separate guesthouse, greenhouse and a heated swimming pool.

Few homes possess such simple elegance, but this #newlisting wears it very well. Former home of #SallyField & #olivianewtonjohn, we just listed this "Enchanted Magical Compound" for $7.9M, 5beds, 6ba on 3+ acres, pool, greenhouse, tennis court, horse stables, indoor/outdoor "entertainers" barn, large grassy areas and plenty of magic - see more photos at themalibulife.com.

The main house features a modern take on a country home, with white walls, black accents and sleek furniture.

According to Wall Street Journal, the property has quite a history with Hollywood celebrities. Aside from Fields, the property was also previously owned by singer-actress Olivia Newton-John. Jennifer Jones and husband Mike, former CEO of Myspace, bought the house from Fields in 2011 for $5.51 million. The couple has since made a significant amount of renovation in the property.

Jennifer shared that they convinced the famous actress to sell by writing a letter to her, saying that they wanted a "nature-based childhood" for their children and that they would be utterly grateful if she sold the house to them. In response, Fields left them with a nice written response and gifts for the kids when the family moved in. The Jones are reportedly selling the beloved property because they are planning to purchase a beach house.
