One of the celebrity homes for sale in Bel-Air belongs to actress Sela Ward and her husband, venture capitalist Howard Sherman. The couple is asking for a price of $39.99 million for their 8-acre estate that boasts a 30-seat movie theater, 100-seat outdoor amphitheater, a man-made beach, outdoor kitchen, and a mini golf course.
As Business Insider reports, the enormous property has been listed on the market after the couple has decided to move to New York. Ward and Sherman purchased the 1940s property in 2003 for $3.8 million. Since they occupied the Bel-Air estate, the mansion went through an elaborate renovation. The home features extensive woodwork from Louisiana and Mississippi, to give credit to the actress' Southern roots. It also features antique furniture from France.
"I grew up in nature in Mississippi," Ward said. The "CSI: NY" star claimed that they purchased the property for their children to give them ample time to relax and enjoy the outdoor. "I really wanted them to be outside more than not," she added.
Other highlights of the house include five bedrooms, two guest rooms, one-bedroom guest cottage, a massage room, a greenhouse, gazebo, vineyard, pizza oven and an infinity swimming pool, according to Wall Street Journal. Ward, who loves painting, also has her own art studio in the property.
Another focal point of the house is an outdoor amphitheater where the couple used to host parties, charity events and concerts. A bar and a kitchen are also attached to it. The gated property has plenty of space. There are wide paths, rooms leading to the outdoors, patios, and various seating areas.
The master suite features his-and-hers dressing rooms, a huge bathroom and patio access. A cozy lounge is also built for relaxing.
Ward, who's popular for her role in the TV drama series, "Sisters" in the 1990s, and her husband are selling the property because they will be left behind by their two kids, who are now grown-ups. The celebrity home is listed by Rayni Williams and Branden Williams of Hilton & Hyland and Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker Previews International.
