Wayne Gretzky, former Canadian ice hockey player, has sold his Thousand Oaks property in Sherwood Country Club for $1.725 million after being on and off the market since it was listed in 2013.
According to Los Angeles Times, Gretzky bought the property, which measures 3,758 square feet, around 20 years ago as per records. The location is very ideal as the home is positioned at the end of a cul-de-sac in the hillside part of the gated community and has views of the Lake Sherwood, surrounding mountains and the Conejo Valley.
The house features an exterior lined with bricks, two patios and a balcony. It has a garage that can accommodate two cars. Gretzky's residence has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, formal living and dining rooms, as well as a family room. Its master suite has its own fireplace. The interior of the house features hardwood floors.
The listing was taken care of Nicole Van Parys of Engel & Voelkers Westlake Village, while the buyer war represented by Dee Dee Hubbard of Troop Real Estate.
The legendary hockey player also listed another Thousand Oaks property in 2014 for $10.5 million. Business Insider recently reported that Gretzky has cut the price by $2.3 million. The five-bedroom residence is now for sale for $8.2 million. The Hall of Famer bought the mansion in 2009 for $2.8 million.
The 8,711-square-foot, single-family house has six bathrooms and hardwood floorings. Built in 2006, the property sits in 43,612 square feet of land. Its ceilings are 9 feet high and its tall windows and doors were designed to allow more natural lighting get inside the stunning California house. It has a gym inside, a patio and a lounge area all overlooking the swimming pool.
