Beatles band member John Lennon's former Palm Beach home has been quietly sold at $23.1 million.
According to the Palm Beach Daily News, the "El Solano" property was built in 1919 by the designer Addison Mizner. Lennon's house was previously sold to Alan and Christine Curtis for $4.3 million back in the 1990s.
In 2014, the Curtises purchased a condominium at the Palm Beach Baltimore for $7.65 million. A year later, they decided to put their Palm Beach home for sale, and it was finally sold at a massive price of $23.1 million.
According to Curbed Miami, the property boasts of five bedrooms, a tennis court, a cabana that is built in the beach, and more.
"And an unusual feature: a second-floor bridge connecting the home to its former guest house, which was deeded to the original builder's neighbor later on. That neighbor today? Novelist James A. Patterson," the publication noted.
Meanwhile, the publication also revealed that Lennon and his then wife Yoko Ono purchase the house in 1980 for only $725,000. After Lennon was killed, Ono decided to sell the house in 1986 for $3.2 million. The buyer at that time was Howard A. Farfard.
In other news, some people shared their thoughts about Lennon's house.
One of them revealed, "My mother & I toured this house when it was on the market circa 1985/86, it still had most of the original details intact, but my mother felt it still needed a lot of work and passed, eventually choosing to buy a newly-built house in the PBPCC in Wellington instead..."
Another fan wrote, "Surprised John would have purchased such a big and pretentious house. Everything about it seems at odds with John and his talent and beliefs. Seems someone else may have wanted it and John went along."
