A mansion in Sydney, Australia has just popped up on the market - and it's no ordinary home, given that The Beatles' own Sir Paul McCartney already lived in it. Found in the suburb of Mosman, the harborside home is seeking $28 million.
The Mosman mansion is set on 26,000 square feet on waterfront land. Boasting of six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a billiards room, a bar, a media room, a wine cellar, an infinity-edge pool, a spa, and covered parking space for five vehicles, the home also has a double garage currently being used as a dance studio.
The home - which has north-facing view over Middle Harbor toward Clontarf Beach - also features several amenities that aren't usually found in typical homes: a championship tennis court with its own clubhouse, and its own boat shed with slip.
Local developer, Bob Rose, built the property in the early 1980s, which was later sold in 1994 to its current owner. As it turns out, the home is one of the most luxurious houses on the market right now, the New York Times reports:
"The home comes with a glamorous reputation. Not only is it on what local residents know as the Golden Mile, a reference to the wealth of property owners in the neighborhood, but it was a home base for Paul and Linda McCartney when Mr. McCartney last toured Australia, in 1993."
The master bedroom is just as extravagant as the rest of the home. Spanning approximately 967 square feet, the master bedroom also has its own en-suite bathroom - which includes two showers, a sunken bathtub, and abundant storage.
The upper entry level of the home houses three bedrooms, each with its own walk-in closet, en-suite bathrooms and water view. The home also has its own private elevator, which gives guests and residents access to the lower levels of the mansion.
The middle level of the home, on the other hand, has formal and informal living areas with high ceilings. The Sydney mansion also has a commercial-grade kitchen with granite and stainless-steel countertops.
