Robin Williams Net Worth: Napa Estate Sold for $18.1 Million

Robin Williams’s Napa estate called Villa Sorriso which means “villa of smiles” is recently sold at US$18.1 million (AU$26 million), according to the Los Angeles Times.

The late comedian built the house located in the Mayacamas Mountains during the early 2000s. It was originally listed in the market for $35 million in 2012 with Sotheby’s International Realty. It was then relisted at $29.9 million with Ms. Rey and Ms. Greer in April 2014.

When Mr. Williams committed suicide in August 2014, the property has several price cuts and was listed again at $22.9 million. Joyce Rey and Cyd Greer of Coldwell Banker were the listing agents of the property, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The 258 hectare property has a limestone-clad mansion with an area of nearly 1860 square meters. It features a two-story entry with a bell tower and rotunda. It has five bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, an oak-paneled library, a billiards room, three safe rooms, and a 12-seat home theatre.

The three floors of the home can be accessed through an elevator. The home also has climate-controlled cellars that can provide storage for artwork and wine. Aside from the main house, there is also a caretaker's house which has four bedrooms.

In all, there are five bedrooms and 10 bathrooms in the main house. A caretaker’s house adds another four bedrooms. On the mansion grounds, there is a 19 meter long infinity-edge swimming pool, lawns, a tennis court, and rolling gardens.

The property also has a vineyard, horse riding trails, hiking, spring-fed pond, mature olive trees and nine-stall horse barn.

The 650-acre estate is bought by French winemakers Alfred and Melanie Tesseron of Château Pontet-Canet. It is represented by William Densberger of Pacific Union with colleague Rob Landsness. The new owners are planning to make wine from the property but it isn't clear yet if they will build a winery.
