For smartphone aficionados, it only gets better; especially to those who are looking to get their hands on the next line up of Sony's flagship line, the Xperia Z4.
According to Android Headline, Z4 is more likely to become Sony Xperia's next flagship smartphone. For Sony followers, it will not be much of a surprise since the manufacturer is known for developing and launching new product line ups every six months. Case in point, when the Sony Xperia Z became available in the market, Z1 later followed just six months after the release of Z. Then Z2 came out in the market after another six months and Z3 appeared for another six.
While the release date of the Z4 is a quick one to guess, specs are a different story. However, Android Headline says the new Z4 will have a pair of quad cores with a 4 GB RAM of Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.
Also, speculation is that Sony is deleting the MicroSD card, the flap cover most common in Z line ups. The flap loosens over time and exposes the smartphone unit to water contact. Instead, the Z4 will include a Qi wireless charging.
In a related story published three weeks ago on PhoneArena.com, the Z4 holds a lot of promise even without the flaps because it has an IP69 certification. Even if submerged underwater (even as deep as 4.9 feet) for 30 minutes, the Z4 will still be fully functional if the rumors are to be true.
The report also mentioned that Sony might be upping the internal memory to 32 GB.
Android Headline also noted taht while the Z4 looks smaller than Z3, the two models are approximately the same size. The Z4 even has a bigger display of 6.0-inch. The new phone also has a 2560 x 1440 pixel display -- a significant improvement from the 1080p displays users have grown accustomed to.
Reviewers also say consumers are looking forward to see an improved version of Z3 with bezels that are similar than the iPhone.
