Design Ideas for a Kid's Bedroom

Coming up with a perfect room design for the little one can be very tricky, most specially with the fact that they would eventually outgrow their room. It is important to make the design as timeless as possible, or at least opt for a room design that can easily be redesigned.

Remodeling the entire room can end up with a lot of cash. As much as possible, start off with a room that needs minimal renovations. HGTV and Style by Emily Henderson gave out a few tips on how to timelessly design a kid's bedroom.

Color Palette

Always start with the room color. Paint it in a way that the room would be flexible in terms of design. As per Emily Henderson's website, choose medium tones when it comes to painting the room, don't go for the ones that are "too baby", most especially in a boy's room. The website then suggested that using the color grey is an ideal room color for a boy's room. Consider the time frame, look for the colors that would match the child's personality in a span of 5 years.

Personal Touches

Putting in personalized touches can never go wrong when it comes to your child's home design. Handmade touches aren't expensive which means that you can easily let it go, or your child would want to keep it simply because you made it by hand.

Let the Kids Decide

When designing a room for a toddler or a preteen, get them to help with the decision making as they would usually have an established personality at a certain age. By letting them choose their own color scheme and express their design idea, tendencies are, your child would want to keep the room for the next 5 years.
