Microsoft announced on Wednesday that Xbox Live Gold members will receive one free game for Xbox One and two free games for Xbox 360 for the entire month of December, Cinema Blend reported.
The free game offered for Xbox One this December is "Worms Battlegrounds," which was initially released last summer.
Xbox's website claims that the game "brings friends and families together in the noble pursuit of self‐improvement, world domination, and exploding sheep. "
"Worms Battleground" is a strategy game wherein players use different weapons to defeat the enemy. It features 65 weapons in its arsenal, making it the first game series to have the largest number of weapons.
Players can go online to play in Fort modes or Death match, but can also undertake 25 different story missions on their own. The challenge in the game lies in the players ability to go through obstacles and being able to aim shots even in a destructible terrain.
The game features a visual set in high definition 3D and has "exciting additions for an improved single player gaming experience," Microsoft said.
For Xbox 360 owners, they will be able to download "The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief" for free starting December 1, until it is replaced by "SSX" starting December 16, according to HITC.
Set in Paris in the 1960's, "The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief" is a crime adventure game about the legendary thief, Raven.
It features the adventures in three episodes from the creators of "The Book of Unwritten Tales," where players have to get to the bottom of the mystery on why Raven continues with his crime adventures despite being "killed," Xbox wrote on its website.
New players can get help in the game using a special function, while experienced one will have the option of solving puzzles and entering a scoring system.
"The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief" will then be replaced by "SSX,"a snowboarding game here players will have to go through nine different but deadly terrain across the world, including the Antarctic and Himalayas.
Players must avoid obstacles and outperform their opponents to get high scores in the game.
Real satellite imaging were used to create the environments in the game, according to Cinema Blend.
The free game offering of Microsoft is a part of its Games With Gold membership program where members can enjoy the free download of games for a certain time period.
