Buy and Sell: Historic Virginia Home Asks for $1.6M

A charming gothic revival home in Virginia is currently on sale for $1.6 million. At first glance, the property looks rather small, but it's a home that all history lovers can instantly fall in love with.

According to Curbed, the property dates back to 1840 and is actually protected by the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register. The property also boasts a 5,200-square-foot brick and stucco home that looks impressively beautiful because it is well-maintained.

"Some of the interior highlights to watch out for include 13-foot ceilings, Gothic arches, marble mantels, heart pine floors, and a walnut staircase - all in all, a house showing much more restraint with the frills than, say, this Gothic revival abode in Indiana," the publication noted.

The charming gothic property also comes with four bedrooms and 112 acres of land that is occupied by a wide range of trees.

Meanwhile, the publication previously released an posting for a Indiana mansion that was priced at $1.4 million. Back in June 2015, the publication dubbed it as one of nicest gothic mansions in the world considering its price and location.

"The 6,312-square-foot home was custom-designed by local firm H.G. McCullough Designers in the early aughts. Now one the market for $1.4 million, the property is a whole lot easier on the eyes than that other Indiana house, but it's still a lot to take in," the publication noted.

Just like the one in Virginia, this one also has four bedrooms and an elaborate fireplace.

"With shingled roofs and an all-white façade, the four-bedroom home is like a cottage meets cathedral, with ornate details sprinkled throughout - from the many gothic windows to the elaborate fireplace to a cathedral-shaped bathroom mirror. The interiors are currently blindingly white with most beige-y accoutrements - heavenly, would be one way to look at it."
