Numerous sources have confirmed that Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac have been secretly married for months, The Hollywood Gossip reported.
The couple has kept quiet about their relationship and remained private in the face of speculation and scrutiny by the public eye. After the birth of their daughter Rose, many are expecting a marriage to follow suit, and it did. It was just that nobody knew about it.
Here are five FYIs about the late-new couple, from their dating days to their secret wedding.
1. Everything started with a tattoo.
Johansson, 28, and Dauriac, 31, met in 2012 through a mutual friend, tattoo artist Fuzi Uvtpk, according to Daily Mail. Uvtpk is the man behind Johansson's ribcage inks: a horseshoe and the words "Lucky You" and is also the artist behind Dauriac's "Lost Illusions" tat.
2. They bonded over their love of art.
Dauriac, a French journalist, is very much inclined to art and creative expression, something he and his new wife have in common, according to E! News. He first served as the editor of the French urban art magazine Clark, before branching off to become the manager of a creative agency.
Johansson, on the other hand, undoubtedly dabbles in creative endeavors herself with her foray into performing, acting and singing.
3. They were engaged after less than a year of dating.
Johansson was first spotted with a ring around her wedding finger during a fundraising event in New York for Hurricane Sandy in 2013 which first sparked the rumors of a secret wedding, according to Daily Mail. It was confirmed afterwards that the couple were engaged, not married.
Johansson had expressed reservations about rushing into marriage following her divorce to actor Ryan Reynolds. According to Daily Mail however, sources overheard her talking to a friend back in June. She told her gal pal that she was looking forward to marrying Dauriac "very soon."
4. They welcomed baby girl Rose Dorothy in September.
A representative for Johansson confirmed the news of the couple's first child to PEOPLE back in Sept. 4.
Rose Dorothy was born in New York City. Her middle name was in honor of Johansson's grandmother, "the first Francophone in my family," according to Johansson.
The couple has kept their baby girl out of the spotlight and the mother and daughter were first spotted in November after having dinner in New York, according to Mirror.
5. The couple have been secretly married since October.
According to records from Granite County, Johansson and Dauriac were wed in Philispburg, Montana in Oct. 1, a clerk confirmed to PEOPLE.
A source also confirmed the news to Page Six, saying the couple decided to get married after the birth of their daughter and chose a secret location to hold the private and intimate ceremony.
Neither of the two have responded to the news, but a congratulations are in order to the newlyweds and their daughter.
