It is rumored that the reboot of the 90's film would be released on July 22, 2016 as reported by E Online.
The reboot of the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" movie is highly-anticipated but no cast confirmations are out yet. Speculations, however, are plenty, including rumors of stars who could play the villain roles.
According to MTV News, the award-winning actress Meryl Streep could play the part of Rita Repulsa, the female humanoid sorceress that fancies intergalactic domination. Comic Book Movie said that "X-Men" star Michael Fassbender might take the role of Lord Zedd, the major villain in the series. Tom Hardy of "The Dark Knight Rises" could also play the iconic golden humanoid ape named Goldar.
A-List actor, Liam Neeson, was allegedly offered the part of Zordon of Eltar, the galactic sage and creator of the Power Rangers, said KDrama Stars, hinging on Comic Book Movie.
Rumors as to who should play the Red Ranger role include actors Hemsworth, Taylor Lautner and Theo James. According to MTV, Hemsworth is the best man for the role.
