House hunters are very keen on their preferences. They look at every detail of the house, most especially the rooms, as well as the overall structure of the house. That's why there is a huge need for people who are currently putting their house on the market to put necessary additions to their house in order to capture the attention of potential buyers. Real estate agents would always suggest a thing or two about the house improvements you need to do.
However, they don't always tell house owners about other secrets, like these bathroom innovations that would take your house up a notch in the real estate market. They are shared to us by Katherine Tuckerman, a Brown Harris Stevens real estate agent.
Bathrooms can make or break a deal.
Buyers can become very picky, most especially when it comes to the bathroom. Colors and motifs alone can be a deal breaker. Another important factor to consider is to fix pipe conditions. Buyers don't like the idea of spending extra bucks on that.
Double Sinks are always a major selling point.
Mornings can be very busy, kids and couples would cram inside a bathroom to brush their teeth and they would need all the sink space that they can have. Having a double sink would also be a must if you want to improve the saleability of the house.
Wainscotting the wall is also a must.
While wainscotting might look old school, it still continues to be among the trendiest bathroom motifs. Tuckerman says that it can make the ceilings appear higher, and they can also create a finer and more elegant look.
Go for a neutral color for the bath.
Nothing beats a clean look for a bathroom. Buyers like it best when the room has a cleaner look. Tuckerman suggests to go for Calacatta or Carrera, as clients prefer these most of the time. She further adds that a modern look is very popular, too.
Keep the toilets modern but user friendly.
Buyers get easily intimidated by high tech toilets. Put yourself in the buyer's shoes. The more comfy the bathroom looks, the better it is for them, too.
