Australia's biggest castle is estimated to be worth around $5 million.
According to Domain, Many real estate agents say that residential structures suitable for royalty like Bli Bli's Sunshine Castle, are difficult to assess in terms of monetary value. The rough estimate of $5.5 million includes Australia's biggest Norman-style castle and two connecting houses for the managers and staff. The castle could be acquired as a solo property for about $4 million.
Ray White commercial north coast central agent Damien Poole believes that the castle would be worth the money because it has a lot of potential and there are so many things that can be done with the property. Mr. Poole said, "We have received international and national interest and we are currently in talks."
The castle's owner, Birte Benecke-Uhrig agrees that it is not easy to name a price for the castle but he would not reject to an offer of $5 million. She said, "It's hard to say, and it depends on a lot of factors, but if someone wanted to purchase all three sections including the business and castle, I think 5 million would bring things to the negotiation table,"
According to Domain, owner Birte notes that it could take more than $5 million to rebuild or repair the castle and admits that she actually want to see a "price-bidding war."
So far, the castle has not received any serious offers even with such huge interest. It currently very much open to any potential buyer. Birte adds that potential uses to the castle could include using it in films and more. Before Ms Benecke-Uhrig and her husband took over the castle in 2006, when they moved to Australia it was already being run by their family. This reportedly is the second time that the castle has been advertised for sale.
