Looking for a new real estate agent? It's easy to get one now, thanks to the new partnership between OpenHouse and NerdWallet, "a website that helps guide consumer decisions with tools, research and advice about credit cards, mortgages, insurance, loans or other expenses," reports HousingWire.
Using data from OpenHouse, NerdWallet users will now be able to find a better, more qualified pool of real estate agents to choose from, to help them sell or purchase a home. According to the press release from the companies:
"OpenHouse today announced it is powering real estate agent recommendations for NerdWallet, helping its users better research and find the most qualified real estate agent for their home purchase or sale. Using OpenHouse's patented, data-driven recommendation service, known as Agent Ace, NerdWallet's 30-million-plus users can easily connect to a real estate agent that can represent them."
As it turns out, OpenHouse "unlocks industry data" on the performance of real estate agents, thereby helping them filter out which agents are "most qualified" to help a consumer purchase or sell a home, based on various criterion, including location, price and home type.
The press release from NerdWallet and OpenHouse also note that the recommendations are "always objective and unbiased," making the platform "superior to traditional word-of-mouth recommendations or agent advertisements."
In addition, OpenHouse will also be incorporating NerdWallet's Home Affordability Calculator and "unbiased financial advice" regarding home buying into the company's websites and app.
This way, OpenHouse customers will be given the ability to calculate the amount of money they could spend on a home. This is done by entering essential financial data like household income, total debt, expenses and desired savings. Users will be able to set a realistic target home price that accounts for their other financial responsibilities and goals as well.
"Buying or selling a home is easily one of the largest - and most stressful - financial transactions Americans make in their life," said OpenHouse head of business development, Jason Nierman.
"OpenHouse eases the process by taking complex data that has traditionally been difficult to access and using it to make informed real estate agent recommendations. Our mission is echoed by NerdWallet, and we're thrilled to bring our service onto their site," Nierman added.
