Super Bowl City Finally Opens In San Francisco

Football and non-football fans will surely flocked the city in San Francisco this weekend as the Super Bowl City officially opens this Saturday, Jan. 29 according to the report from Curbed SF. This is an event which aims to showcase everything that's great in the Bay area including food, art, culture and more. But before you even go to this sports-themed city for the grandest football event, here are things you need to know.

Venue

The Super Bowl will be at the foot Market Street by the Ferry Building. There are maps provided by the committee of the Super Bowl 50 host for everyone. At Sue Bierman Park, you can attend free concerts and at Justin Herman Plaza, you will be able to find the Fan Energy Zone.

Musical Performances

According to Bleacher Report, there will be over 35 musical performances during the entire Super Bowl Week starting this Saturday Jan. 29 until Feb. 7. Performers include The Band Perry, Alicia Keys and Chris Isaak.

Traffic Jam

Traffic is expected to get worst on Monday as commuters adjust to street closures. If you're not going to the event, avoid the area close to the venue. If you are coming, you might want to take public transportation.

The organizers of the event surround the place with free WiFi as their goal is to make the Super Bowl event the most shared in history. You can use the hashtag #superbowlcity with your social media friends.

Cost

Many have been said and written about how much the organizers have spent to run the event more than how much it will benefit the community. A spokesperson disclosed a figure amounting to $ 7.5 million to be given to local charities through the legacy fund of the Super Bowl, the 50 Fund.
