Nissan Maxima 2015 Release Date, Price & Pictures: Sport Sedan Concept Hot or Not? [Poll]

Nissan is releasing two new Nissan Maxima models for 2015 inspired by the sport sedan concept that has been growing popular in motor shows the past few months, Master Herald reported.

Reports and speculations are already being made online on what Nissan's upcoming models are going to look like after word got around that Nissan is looking to sport sedans to help them redesign their cars. Rumors are a plenty -- from size to engine to comparisons against the Porsche, according to Master Herald.

One of the changes that could be expected is the size, as the new four-door models could end up slightly smaller than Nissan Altima 2014. Drivers could also expect the car to have about 300 horsepower and either a 3.5L V-6 under the hood with a CVT transmission or a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine.

Some are even claiming that the new Nissan Maxima will have a futuristic look, making it more attractive than the Porsche Panamera.

The new Nissan Maximas, rumored to be released in fall of 2015, will compete against other releases such as Buick LaCrosse, Lexus ES 350 and Ford Taurus, according to Master Herald.

Nissan's official website has provided a sneak peek on the upcoming Maxima.

The new cars are described as "low, wide and sleek" and will have a floating roof, custom 21 inch aluminum alloy wheels, V-Motion front end and headlights and taillights shaped like boomerangs, says the website. The cars are also coated with rich colors of Strad Amber paint, boasts metallic accents and an ergonomic design for an "ultra-modern, driver-focused atmosphere," it added.

Anticipation for the upcoming Maxima models have been running high ever since Nissan's sport sedan concept ended up winning AutoWeek Magazine's "Best Concept," according to Nissan News.

The concept was created by Nissan Design America, developed and refined with the help of the Nissan Global Design Center based in Japan. Thanks to their combined efforts, Nissan was awarded for the concept back in January at the 2014 North American International Auto Show by AutoWeek editors. The company beat competitors Kia G4 Stinger and Toyota FT-1.

Shiro Nakamura, the senior vice president and chief creative officer of Nissan, said that the concept was very important for the company. "It demonstrates a new and energetic design direction that builds on Nissan's Legendary approach of applying sport car principles to a sedan," he said, according to Nissan News.
