"Assassin's Creed: Victory" due out next year has been leaked online.
Ubisoft has confirmed the game's authenticity and said in a statement, via IGN: "It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we're disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we're excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin's Creed Unity for players."
According to Kotaku, "Victory" transports gamers to 19th Century London during the Victorian era. The setting has been a long-time request by consumer and is code-named appropriately -- Victory, for Victorian.
The site claims that a person familiar with the game has indicated the game is still pegged for release in 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC modules, effectively leaving behind older consoles.. The release is pegged to be a lone release, unlike this year's "Unity" and "Rogue," but with the new development, it's possible something may change.
Unlike previous developments, Kotaku's report indicates that the game is being produced by Ubisoft's Quebec studio, a first, with previous developments being helmed by its Montreal team.
Ubisoft has released earlier this month, "Assassin's Creed Unity" and "Assassin's Creed Rogue" on Nov. 11, but has been dealing with a number of technical issues on "Unity." Entertainment Weekly noted that the firm has since apologized for the persistent problems while continuing to work out the kinks.
Website Canada reported that a number of game fans felt that the game "Assassin's Creed Unity" was unfinished. Their disappointment has prompted the Ubisoft to apologize for the continuous problems and has offered fans free Ubisoft games and Unity downloadable content.
Kotaku provided a lengthy analysis of the 7-minute video that was shared with the site. They share details of the video's beginning, a description of the game's bird's eye view of London and footage of the assassin "who leaps down to the street, makes his way into a nearby horse carriage, and accepts an assignment from a mysterious masked woman. The task: kill a man named Roderick Bulmer, who has been trafficking little girls for the assassins' ancestral enemies. 'The templars must receive our message,' says the woman. 'You must send it in blood.'"
