Home To-do List: February Checklist for Your Home

It's February and what could be the best way to start the month than by considering some few changes for the home. Cleaning barren spaces, improving the quality of air in your home, regulating safety, etc. This checklist provided by Houzz is the best way to check your home's condition after the winter season.

1. Purify the air

Improve the quality of air in your home this Feb. by eliminating congestion and opening up your home's window for a little time. This can help circulate the air that was stuck inside and let the new air flow to the house. The outlet even suggests to "invest in buying air purifiers" to help generate clean air for your home.

2. Clean walls, floors and interior windows.

Allot some time to clean your house especially hard to reach areas. This will not only eliminate the dust culminating in those areas but it will also help you check if there are areas that need some repairs.

"A midwinter cleaning can help cut down on dust - especially important for allergy sufferers. Vacuum cobwebs from high corners, walls and baseboards; vacuum and mop floors; and clean interior windows and sills," according to the article.

3. Do a home safety check.

This is one important task in your checklist. Checking your home's safety devices and utilities. Included in this checklist are: updating the contents of your emergency kit, checking if the smoke detectors are working, replacing the fire extinguishers if they are already expired and restocking your emergency water and food supply.

4. Tidy up cleaning spaces.

Another part of the checklist is decluttering. Check the stored food in your pantry and your food shelves, most often than not, you miss out throwing items that are already expired or spoiled. Eliminate this junk to have ample space in your drawers and also try to create a list of what's left in your pantry, so that you can easily know what to get next time in your grocery shopping.
