Here's a Look at Venice’s Colorful Mosaic Tile House

Venice is home to a popular colorful mosaic tile house that is open for guests on tour.

According to Curbed, artist Cheri Pann bought the tile house in Venice back in 1994 and wanted to include a huge studio beside it for her works. In an interview with Houzz, Pann and her boyfriend Gonzalo Duran said that they both wanted to see some major changes in the house that's why they decided to transform it to their liking.

According to the publication, remodeling the tile house transformed it into a full-on and full-time project that's been going on for the past 20 years. To make their house look as unique as ever, Duran and Pann would typically divide their work on the home. For instance, Pann is in charge of making all of the tiles, while Duran is the one in charge of attaching everything together.

Meanwhile, back in 2003, the famous house was featured on The Los Angeles Times. At that time, Pann and Duran sat down for an interview with the publication where they said that they thought they will be done remodeling the house in 10 years. Another 10 years passed, and the couple is still working hard to make their tile house look as perfect as ever.

"It's a monument to love in the midst of really chaotic times," Pann told the publication at that time.

Their tile house typically has a range of brightly hued mosaic tiles, figurines, miniature tea sets and smashed up plates cemented on walls. They also have a range of coffee mugs, line window frames and a whole lot more.

At present, the couple's house is open for day tours. However, these are only typically done by appointment. On a regular basis, the designs and layouts of the house are changed to make it more appealing to guests.
