A new rumor is circulating that Apply may be releasing its next iPhone, dubbed as the iPhone 6S in early 2015.
According to Forbes there is speculation that Apple plans to release a new handset alongside the Apple Watch sometime in the Spring and release another device during its traditional September slot.
The reasoning behind the back-to-back iPhone release is that Apple is worried the Apple Watch won't sell well if consumers will not buy a new iPhone as well. The release of a new smartphone would aid in generating interest in the Watch.
Stabley Times wrote in its article, "our source says that Apple is hesitant about launching the iWatch in the spring of 2015 without a new iPhone to go along with it, as it could give hesitant consumers an excuse to wait on buying both until the fall."
However, the site basically calls the rumors that claim a two iPhone release in 2015 "bonkers." In the article, it goes on to explain: "It's an interesting idea, and short-term there is a lot of potential in bringing in an iPhone 6S alongside the proposed Apple Watch in the first half of 2015, and following up with the iPhone 7 in the traditional late September slot. But it burns through a lot of user goodwill, it smacks of desperation, and with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus still in heavy demand there's no reason to disrupt that sales process."
The publication goes on to speculate that it's more rational for Tim Cook and Apple to "be planning for a run on new iPhone handsets alongside the Apple Watch. The wearable will likely need to pair with an iOS 8 powered handset with some hefty specifications to provide a 'magical' user experience."
The site adds: "Presumably an upgrades iPhone 4S will not cut it, and perhaps the iPhone 5 and 5 S architecture is... proving a bit of a challenge?"
In terms of logistics, it would be very difficult for Apple to release another iPhone when the Cupertino-based tech firm is still trying to cope with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus demand.
According to financial analysts, the release of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have given Apple a global sales surge. Daily Tech reports that according to Kantar's World Panel metrics, since the launch of its two new iPhones, "Apple has rebounded, reaching a phone shipment market share of 41.5%."
