'Misty Upham Cause of Death Revealed; Injuries to Head & Torso, Manner of Death Undetermined

The cause of death of actress Misty Upham has been revealed.

According to the Washington state medical examiner, the "Django Unchained" actress, who died in October, was the result of blunt force trauma to the head and torso. However, the exact manner of her death remains "undetermined," reported NY Daily News.

Police officials believe that the trauma may have been caused by a fall. While it is unclear about what exactly happened that lead to the death of the actress, there is no indication of foul play.

CNN noted that the 32-year-old's father shared that during the time of her disappearance, the "August: Osage County" star was off her medication. He also revealed that the actress had bipolar disorder and was dealing with depression and anxiety but says his daughter isn't suicidal.

"We believe that Misty's death was accidental. She did not commit suicide," dad Charles Upham previously wrote on Facebook, recalled NY Daily News. "We believe she ran into the wooded area behind her apartment to hide from the police. The area in question has a hidden drop off and evidence suggests that she slipped and fell off of the steep embankment when she tried to get out of a view from the road."

Upham, a Native American actress went missing on Oct. 5 and was found dead on Oct. 12 by a family members who organized a search party. Her body was discovered at the bottom of a river embankment.

Star Pulse reported that prior to the actress' death, she has been has been dealing with mental issues and changed her medication after to Washington from California to care for her father.

Upham's family, who are members of the Blackfeet tribal nation, have publicly criticized the police for doing to little to search for Misty.

Officials have responded to the claims by asserting that they did not "ignore" the reported disappearance of Upham. Investigators report that they conducted thorough searches, held interviews as well as coordinated with the Seattle Police Department.

The talented actress was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her role in 2008's "Frozen River." Other acting credits include "Jimmy P," as well as TV productions that include series "Big Love" and TV movie "Skinwalkers."

"So, so sad to hear this news-all our thoughts are with her family and with her beautiful spirit," said Meryl Streep who worked with Upham in the film "August: Osage County," wrote E! News.
