Les Miserables star, Anne Hathaway, bought a co-op in the Upper West Side for $2.55 million. The Oscar-winning actress and her husband, producer Adam Shulman, sold their loft in Dumbo back in July 2014, which was at the Clocktower building.
The newly purchased pad at 18 West 74th Street, will be used as a pied-a-terre, as it is just about 1,200 square feet and they have a baby on the way.
The apartment has great features of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, French doors, a private terrace, and a sunny north to south custom lighting layout and cabinetry.
The five-unit building, dubbed the Mansion, is one of Neo-Georgian buildings that span from 18-52 West 74 Street. They were developed by the Clark Family in 1904, the same family who also developed Dakota.
The former home of Hathaway, which she lived in with fraudster Raffaello Folliere, is currently listed on the market for $59,500 per month.
When the beaming star was filming "Les Miserables," she cut-off her hair and lost 25 pounds to play a malnourished prostitute, according to The Sun.
Hathaway married Shulman in September. But prior to their wedding, she was filming the musical in England, away from her then-future husband.
When Hathaway starved to play Fantine for the movie "Les Miserables," she wanted some moral support, so she asked her fiancé to fly over. But then, Hathaway consequently asked Shulman to go back home - because he was too much fun.
Hathaway said: "Adam and I had worked out that I was going to do the first part by myself, because he has a job, he has a life, he can't just drop everything to be with me every second."
She also added, "I really need to be a bit more miserable actually." So Shulman reportedly went home and the actress crawled the misery of the character and felt fine without him.
